Bernie (also Burnie) Frederick Hilton was born in Roan Mountain, TN, July 1898 and enlisted on 25 April 1917 at Elizabethon, TN. He was discharged on 15 April 1919 at Fort Oglethorpe, Ga. Disabled due to tuberculosis and suspected syphillis. He died on 10 March 1928. He was the son of Truman L. and Nannie F. Hilton.
