Argyl Lee Depew was born on 2 September 1920 in Gray, Washington County, Tennessee, the son of William Melvin Depew and Laura Ford. He was married to Opal Ruth Humphry and father of Shirley Depew. He entered the armed forces November 18, 1942.
He was killed in action on 9 October 1944 in Belgium
