Andrew Donald Mynatt was born in Graysville, Tennessee on 11 February 1923 to Andrew Lawrence Mynatt and Ella Mae Barnes. He was the husband of Mary Alice Mynatt. PFC Mynatt was killed on Iwo Jima on 15 March 1945

Funeral services for Pfc. Andrew Donald Mynatt, who was killed in action March 15, 1945, while serving with the United States Marines on Iwo Jima, will be held at the North Chattanooga Church of Christ. Burial will be in the National Cemetery with full military honors. Pfc. Mynatt, son of Mr. and Mrs. A.L. Mynatt, formerly of Lupton City and now residing at Oak Ridge, Tenn., joined the Marines in November of 1943 and went overseas in July of 1944 with the Fifth Marine Division. He was a graduate of Hixson High School. Pfc. Mynatt is survived by his parents, sister, Mrs. Ernie Griggs; brothers, Bruce, Billy Joe and Richard Mynatt.
