Albert Cross Payne was born 5 November 1891 in Shouns, Tennessee to Francis Marion Payne and Lydia Caroline Farmer. He was killed in action on 15 October 1918. Pvt Payne was initially buried at Argonne American Cemetery, Romagne-sous-Montfaucon, Meuse France. He is buried at Arlington National Cemetery, Virginia, Eur, 2851.
