The East Tennessee Veterans Memorial Association honored and remembered those who made the ultimate sacrifice at the “2014 Reading of the Names”, Memorial Day – Monday, May 26 at the East Tennessee Veterans Memorial.
Beginning at sunrise, more than sixty volunteers, including students, veterans, Gold Star families, active duty, guard and reserve service members came together to read each of the now 6222 names aloud.
At the conclusion of the reading, the twenty newly-engraved names were dedicated, followed by the annual Memorial Day service organized by the American Legion Post 2.

From engaging interviews with military historians and the experts closest to the process, to polished graphics and rare archive footage, it will be a beautiful, bold telling of one of our nation’s most important stories.
